Camisole with elasticized thread waistline, made of originally white cotton cambric [?], appears not to have been washed.
Possibly a combination of commercial and altered construction. Upper front made from a very wide band of eyelet-embroidered white cotton, with scalloped upper edge. Lower front is made from different fabric and has been seamed to upper section with a combination of hand stitching oversewn by machine.
Entire back made of this fabric and finished with eyelet embroidered edging that is similar to, but not matching, the front eyelet. This seam may also have been machine stitched. Rayon satin ribbon run through the eyelets and ties centre front. Straps of double scalloped eyelet. Side seams are stitched with two rows of different sizes machine stitches. Lower edge appears to have been reworked. Woven label in side seam reads: “Fantasy/Lingerie Ltd./Size L”.Acquisition
