White cotton fabric (evenweave).
Has Cap Sleeves decorated with machine-made white lace, similar lace at neckline. Neckline is wide and quite straight - like a "boat" neck. Seams are machine sewn Felled seams. Narrow off-white textured braid applied around edges of fabric and on either side of the strips of insertion fabric which is embroidered in a repetitious floral design in white thread on each side of the embroidery are narrow rows of drawn-thread work. A strip of insertion eyelet goes completely around the neck, and at the back the fabric is gathered up to this band. At front the fabric is pleated where it joins the yoke which is formed by eight vertical strips of insertion across the width of the front. Bottom of yoke has ruffled lace as at sleeves and neck.Acquisition
