Description

006.21.6 a,b Rectangular cardboard box b) and lid a), made to contain five pounds of chocolates. Lid printed in dull orange, black and white, with scattered modified concentric circle motifs surrounding a central black escutcheon-shaped panel with central upper and lower swags of the circular motifs, [suggesting Art Deco roses]. Panel printed [orange] “Lowney’s/[white]. . . Chocolates/[white]Made by Walter M. Lowney Co. Limited/Montreal . Toronto . Winnipeg . Calgary . Vancouver/Canada”. All four sides of box printed with similar panel to top, with one short side having the additional information ”Vesta Special Assortment/5 lbs. Net”. Sides of box printed similarly to lid sides, with the addition of the company information on one long side. Bottom of box stamped “5535”. Box contains a protective pad of a layer of glascine-type paper adhered to a cellulose paper pad.
