Heavy, circular commemorative medallion with integral hanging tab, made of grey metal [pewter ?]. Obverse has large, recessed, circular, slightly-antiqued central area marked by raised line borders, with recessed area between borders. Central area engraved: “NORTH AMERICAN/TOWN CRIER/CHAMPIONSHIPS/ [horizontal double scroll element]/1998 – HINTON, AB”. Border area has design of what might be construed as a very stylized wheat stalk, used twice [see remarks]. The design is in high relief. Reverse is engraved: “SPONSORS:/SHAW CABLE TV/YR RADIO”. Brass-coloured snaffle clip, attached to brass-coloured jump ring through hanging tab. Red synthetic grosgrain-type ribbon through jump ring, sewn to form a “v” when worn, with a strip of white ribbon printed with central red maple leaves and red borders applied to the neck ribbon on the [wearer’s] right side of the “v” and a similar strip of ribbon vertically printed with equal blue, white and red stripes applied to the [wearer’s] left side.Acquisition
