Rounded rectangular cedar basket with attached lid. Cedar splint and twined cedar root construction. Decoration of blocks and dashes, in vertical and horizontal lines, formed by light and dark roots [and possibley tree bark?] woven through the twining. Basket gently expands from base to upper edge, which is finished with a deep flange to accommodate lid. Lid attached to basket with two leather thong hinges. Two braided leather handles. Lid closed with two leather thong ties. Leather thong loop for lifting lid.Acquisition
