Rectangular, folding, desktop clock and picture frame, bright brass finish metal housing, full length central hinge. Each frame has ridged decorative area at central top and bottom and sides have black faux enamel panels which border sides and meet top and bottom decoration. Quartz clock in [viewer’s] left frame, engraved metal dedication panel inserted in [viewer’s] right frame. Recessed rectangular white clock face printed in black with “12”, “3”, “6” and “9”. Other numeral positions indicated with large dot. “SEIKO” printed below “12” and “QUARTZ” above “6”. “JAPAN” printed below “6”. Bright brass hands with spade ends. Brass second hand. Dedication panel has applied engraved panel with bright cut border which reads: “WITH BEST WISHES/FROM/ THE MAYOR/ OF NEWQUAY/ Councillor/Graham Lyons/1997”. Both frame glass covered. Back of clock frame finished with lightly-textured matte bright brass plastic backplate, with lift-off cover for battery and clock movement, marked “JAPAN”. Small silver-coloured adhesive sticker below cover reads: “Ref: QQZ299K”. Similar backplate for picture frame, central moulded ridged decoration and two large thumb notches to remove backplate. Cardboard backing for picture inside. Two small circular green felt furniture finish protectors on each base.Acquisition
