Description

Approximately 13-inch tall doll with hard plastic body and vinyl head, open/shut eyes and articulated head, arms, and legs. Blonde synthetic hair. Apparently commercially dressed, but apparently intended to evoke one of the costumes worn by Town Crier Bert Stevens' consort, Marolyn Stevens. Costume is vaguely Elizabethan, old gold-coloured brocade redingote-style overdress trimmed with narrow gold passmenterie braid with lilac accents, puffed, 3/4 sleeves, V-neck and sleeve finished with ivory couched trim and gold passmenterie. Bright gold coloured silk duppioni (?) underskirt with bottom frill accended with gold passmenterie. Pale gold synthetic (?) petticoat trimmed with matching synthetic lace. White synthetic tricot panties; white knit eyelet thigh-high stockings; white plastic mary jane shoes marked [left shoe] reverse 2// reverse 461 and [right shoe] 3// reverse 461. Headpiece made of two narrow, stiffened strips covered with old gold brocade and gold passmenterie, formed into an open, pointed ellipse, trimmed with white and purple maribou feathers [some have been pinned on with small gold safety pins] and worn over left ear. Passmenterie choker. 017.009.040.002 white-enamelled, adjustable doll stand.
