9.5 inch plastic female doll, dresed in "old fashioned" dress, probably intended to represent the partner of a town crier. Moulded plastic face has blue eyes, looking straight ahead, with painted black eyebrowns and eyelashes. Bright red closed mouth. Shoulder-length blonde synthetic hair with centre part. Doll's clothes may have been modified from the original clothes on the doll. Ankle-length pale pink broadcloth dress with binding, threaded with pale pink narrow ribbon, and hand sewn to neckline. Wine flower corsage on left shoulder. Siimlar trimming around waistline and puffed, elbow-length sleeves. Black ribbon chocker held with tiny pink "jewel". Hemline trimmed with handstitched, dyed-to-match pink synthetic lace. Centre back bodice seam hand stitched closed. Figure's left hand has "wedding ring" on thrid finger. Lace trimmed white broadcloth petticoat, white synthetic knit, lace trimmed panties. White synthetic knit socks and white plastic slip-on shoes. Back of neck labelled: MADE IN CHINA. 017. 009.006.002 Adjustable doll stand. White enamelled, circular metal base, and sliding wire waist clip which fits into vertical channel at back of stand. Underside of stand has sticker with text block reading: "ITEM NO. 12023/[barcode]/?????830/MADE IN TAIWAN" and another sticker on top [which obscures part of the barcode number]: "MAYFAIR CRAFT/$2.25".Acquisition
