Description

Lady's handkerchief. White linen square with hemstiched border, finished with handmade (?) bobbin lace with Cluny lace elements, handstitched to the edges. This lace has been made all in one piece and the linen centre finished to the lace edging size. The edging pattern is of fan-shaped floral motifs consisting of the four cloth stitch tallies, bars and picots with a three-scallop top profile, alternating with mesh triangles, with each corner having a more elaborate version of the motif.
