Description

Ladies bonnet of white fabric - probably cotton - two different types of fabric, double ruffle around front edge of bonnet and single ruffle around back and base of bonnet is of fine even-weave cotton; probably lawn.Fabric of crown and sides of bonnet and ties at corners are of white fabric with a 'rib' to it apparently produced by a heavier thread woven into the fabric. Fabric attached to crown has been gathered on either side and has been attached to crown or adjacent fabric. Across front of bonnet two rows of embroidered eyelet have been inset. Outside edge of bonnet has drawstring threaded through it (ties at centre front and centre back) so it may be adjusted to fit various sized heads.
