Rectangular tray of unknown fibre - possibly raffia with over wrapped decoration on the sides and over the handles which are on opposite parallel sides of the four sides to the tray. Decorated with coloured raffia in green, pink, red, and maroon red. Background area is a natural colour. Dyed raffia has faded but original colours are still recognizable. Raffia is wrapped over parallel slats of the basket's main material forming crosses or 'X' in rows of various colours forming a symetrical design with the exception of an extra row of white/off white which are smaller in size than the other pieces of the design. Interior rim is built up approx. 3.5cm from the inner edge. An interlacing of pink and green raffia decorates the outside edge of this rim & the colours of these are quite bright.Acquisition
