a) Metal military helmet, specifically one for a United Nations Peacekeeping Force member.
b) Kevlar liner.
Cast steel helmet, rounded contours with formed front brim, no lower rim , painted "United Nations Peacekeeper" blue on exterior. Paint has finely-bubbled finish. Painted drab olive interior, and marked "GALLEGO/973". Two metal hooks, in opposition, on lower edge, to which is hooked a two-part drab olive synthetic webbing chin strap. Metal adjustment buckles marked with a joined "AB". Area under chin is cotton khaki webbing and chin strap is fastened with large brass rivet fastener.
b) moulded kevlar liner painted olive drab on the top surface. Three khaki cotton webbing straps, riveted to liner, form a six-armed star web in liner top. Tan leather sweatband attached to webbing with six metal clips. Sweatband marked "GALLEGO 973". Leather sweatband ends joined with piece of khaki cotton webbing stamped: "HEADBAND HELMET LINER/DLA 100-86-C-?897/8470-0[9?]-153-6671/STEINBERG BROS INC". A back adjustment strap formed of camouflage green cotton webbing, riveted to central back area, is stamped on one side with three lines of printing, the first word of which may be "HELMET" and on the other with "LOT 21".Acquisition
