Needlebook. Modified oblong-shaped cardboard "book cover" , printed on both faces with an polychrome illustration of a girl and two women looking at a length of fabric.
Woman in foreground wears a 1940's style red straw hat and has red- polished fingernails and holds a threaded needle. Title block reads: "Happy Home/Rust Proof/Needle Book/Nickel Plated/60 Assorted/Gold Eye/Needles and/Threader" . In one lower corner of one side is "Japan".
Inside, on a dark blue background are seven foil panels, framed with white curlicues , in colours of green, red, fuchsia and gold. Six contain 10 needles each, of different types, one contains the needle threader. Text similar to front cover, with the addition of "Finest Quality" in two places. A sheet of black paper is placed in the centre of the book [perhaps treated with some material to keep the needles dry]Acquisition
