001 a)Trapezoid-shaped wooden case, covered with imitation black leather-textured paper. Hinged lid, closed with small white metal hinged modified hasp closure. Lid interior padded and lined with white silk satin. Base has fitted interior for seven tools, lined with white velvet and finished with a white cotton cording.
.001 b) - thin-gauge white metal handle/sheath retractable very fine latchet hook. Hook is advanced by pushing a small tab in the lower handle/sheath area. [Probably not original to case].
.001 c) - Metal stiletto [or awl] with green-and-white marbled plastic handle.
.001 d) - Metal hook [button hook type] with similar handle.
.001 e) - Metal fine crochet hook with similar handle.
.001 f) - Metal, fine, short knife blade with similar handle.
.001 g)- Green-and-white plastic bottom section of a needle case [top is missing].
001 h) - two sewing needles (missing) and a fine bodkin-type implement. One needle is thick, long and sharp-pointed, with a big eye. [darning needle type]. One is blunt-ended blued steel with a large gold eye. Bodkin made of two lengths of flattened white metal, joined below eye; fine blunt end. Split eye, one half has slot and other has small projection to catch thread or ribbon [perhaps used for threading fine ribbons in baby wear or lingerie]. .
001 i)- brass thimble with tinned interior. Frieze band decoration above lower edge. [may not be original to case]. Scissors missing from case.Acquisition
