Description

Glazed ceramic, two-piece mould, pitcher or jug with raised and impressed decoration. Bowl-shaped base area, sharply narrowing to cylindrical upper area. Applied handle. Wide upper border, brown glazed, has raised anchor-and-chain and rope motifs, against a stylized rolling sea background. Lower area of cylindrical section has ivory “fence-board” background with raised pink amaryllis-like-flowers-and-green-leaves motifs. Bowl-shaped area has brown-glazed diagonal basket-weave decoration.
