Description

Soft-cover cook book: "Purity Flour/Cook/Book", published by National Art Co., Toronto, for Western Canada Flour Mills Co., Limited, 1923. (Title page gives title as "The New/Purity Flour/Cook Book" and facing page provides information that this is the "Second Book"). Medium brown cardstock cover with embossed border of stylized wheat ears, side borders centered with a device containing a "P". Title is embossed and overprinted in dark green. Centre has embossed medallion, overprinted in dark green, reading: "Purity/A Perfect Flour/Canada". Cloth tape bound, with hole in upper left corner, with string for hanging. Many coloured illustrations of recipes. 183 numbered pages and several blank pages "Notes and Your Own Recipes", all of which have been filled with handwritten recipes.
