Description

Pink Chinese robe. Rose pink patterned silk trimmed with 1/4 inch gold metallic and blue silk ribbon strips as well as multi coloured 1/2 inch dragon patterned ribbon and gold metallic thread embroidered 2 inch wide cream coloured silk with embroidered characters. The side seams are split 12 inches from the bottom hem. The front closes across the body from left to right with small brass buttons patterned with what may be dragons attached with traditional silk loops which match the blue silk trim. The sleeves are 40 inches around and inset at a drop shoulder with the rose pink silk. They are trimmed with a cream silk in a pattern of tiny squares with one 20 inch side topped with a garden, pagoda and character scene. The same ribbons trim the sleeves. The cuffs are turned back, tacked and lined with rust coloured cotton. The neck is trimmed with the ribbons and embroidered metallic fabric in an intricate scalloped pattern. The corners have detailed embroidery figures and scenes appliqued. The lining is patterned blue silk.
