Cylindrical handle consists of a bottom knurled and cross-hatch milled knob which twists to open the blade guards on the razor head. The main shaft has a finely-reeded pattern and a cross-hatch milled finish.The upper, adjustable dial, has a knob with regularly-spaced knurls in groups of three and a calibrated ring from "1" to "9", with only the odd numbers given, but the even numbers indicated by a dot. [Adjusts closeness of shave, with "9" being the closest shave.]. It appears that the handle is integral to the head. Razor head is double-edged and razor blade guards have a shiny finish. In the well surrounding the central shaft of the head is stamped: "PAT NO//ON PK". The underside of the head is stamped:"MADE IN U.S.A./ [Gillette lozenge logo]//REG. U.S./PAT. OFF."
