Description

Single-draw telescope/spyglass, possibly naval or military. Approx. 34.5 cm long leather-clad [originally japanned leather, now deteriorated], cylindrical barrel [not tapered]. Eyepiece with shutter cover screws into [possibly nickel plated] brass draw barrel which is marked [possibly hand engraved] "Ross/London/No 24866" in cursives. Lens housing, brass and nickel plated, unscrews from telescope barrel and has screw-on metal outer housing with friction-fit protective lens cap.
