Wooden snuff box with 3 handmade matches. Case appears to be of maple burl - except for hinged lid which is of one piece and has been hollowed out. Hinge is a pin which has been drilled into each end - 2 hinges - all wood covered. Lid has a small oval cut into center and thumb lift. ( perhaps mother of pearl inset) Outside has been polished. Hand made. Inside is unfinished and seems lined with plastic or celluloid or possibly tortoiseshell.
