Description

Board game, Town of Sidney version of Monopoly. Game in brown cardboard box, in shrink wrap plastic. Titled "The Game of Sidney by the Sea". Presumably published by the Sidney Lions Club, as a fundraiser. Monoply format, but only half of game visible. Properties around perimeter are local businesses. Central area has a "Commodity Futures Exch.", with a table of investments including several of the usual commodities used for futures [copper, gold, platinum, pork bellies] but also bean sprouts, ebony and peppermint. Also to left side of centre area is an alphabetical list of "Friends of/Lions" and, to right, a list of "Business/VIPs". Also a block labelled: "Unsold/Property/Title Cards". Black/white Sidney coat-of-arms and a black/white photo of the waterfront showing the fish market, the gazebo, and an orca leaping out of the water.
