Description

Black and white uniform cap for Fisheries and Oceans [ Jones, I. 20230503 this needs to be verified. The cap badge appears to be from a Canadian Naval uniform]. Cap top is finely-ribbed white plastic above a ribbed black band--both have been stiffened and the top also reinforced by an interior clear plastic insert. Cap has a black plastic visor with black plastic trim non-functional chinstrap (now in several pieces from deterioration 20230503). Above visor, fastened to the black band, is the cap badge: black with queen's crown at top, silver thread embroidered anchor below, framed with a inner gold embroidery rope and outer frame of 10 small maple leaves. Lined with black polyester [?] fabric. Sewn to the lining is a clear plastic lozenge with a printed paper label under it: "William Scully Ltee, Ltd/2090 Moreau/Montreal, QC/H1W 2M3/(514) 527-9333". Also sewn into the plastic lozenge is paper "UNION LABEL'" which also gives the size "58 cm/7 1/4", and other information.
