1976. .105Description
Guitar zither, wooden hollow box construction, rectangular shape with one corner diagonally shaped. There is a circular hole in the top of the sound box area. The wood has been stained with a dark finish and there are four transfers or painted designs on the upper surface of the instrument. The steel wires of the zither are secured around metal pegs--presumably the cast metal key (painted black) provided was used to tighten or tune the strings. To play the zither a wood and metal "hammer" is provided, having a thin metal strip with a circular piece of dowelling at one end and a wooden handle at the other end. The wood has been stained dark and the flexible metal is securedby two small nails.Acquisition
