Silsbee Texas, FramedDescription
The Silsbee Ice House opened in 1927 where it made a ton of ice each day. The ice was delivered to homes by horse and wagon, and shipped on boxcars on the train all over southeast Texas. A railroad spur brought the train to the back dock of the Ice House where ice was loaded directly on the train from the building. The Ice House closed in 1984, and has now been renovated into this museum.Collection
