2024.14.205Description
This badge would have been used by members of the Bentley Drivers Club. The Club (BDC) was founded in March 1936 in the United Kingdom by Keston Pelmore, a passionate young Bentley owner. Pelmore had purchased a vintage Bentley 3 Litre in 1933 and was captivated by its driving experience. Wanting to share this enthusiasm, he printed cards labeled “Bentley Drivers Club” and placed them on Bentleys parked at Brooklands during a race meeting, inviting owners to join. The inaugural meeting was held at his flat in Sloane Avenue, London, marking the official birth of the club.
The principal functions of the Bentley Drivers Club are to unite Bentley enthusiasts, preserve the marque’s history, and promote motoring events. The club organizes rallies, tours, and track days, while also maintaining archives and publishing a club magazine.Collection
