The badge features an eagle and the letters "ADAC." The letters stand for the Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club.
The Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club (ADAC) was founded on May 24, 1903, in Stuttgart, Germany, originally as the Deutsche Motorradfahrer-Vereinigung (German Motorcyclists’ Association). It was later renamed ADAC in 1911 as its scope expanded beyond motorcycles to include automobiles. The club was founded by early motoring enthusiasts who sought to organize and represent drivers' interests at a time when cars and motorcycles were still rare, and roads were poorly developed. After being dissolved during the Nazi era in 1933, the ADAC was re-established in Munich in 1946, where it has remained headquartered ever since.Collection
