The Arab automobile was a high-performance English car manufactured in Letchworth, Hertfordshire, between 1926 and 1928. Leyland Motors had made 50 four-cylinder engine blocks intended for fast delivery vans, but the project was unsuccessful. J. G. Parry-Thomas, Reid Railton, his assistant, and Henry Spurrier, chairman of Leyland Motors, discussed what to do with the blocks. They decided to build the 2-litre sporting car we see in the photographs.
Reid Railton was a well-known engineer and designer famous for his work on racing cars and high-performance vehicles. His experience led to the Arab cars being known for their innovative design and engineering, featuring advanced technology for their time. Production was short-lived, but the Arab cars left an impression on the automotive world. (Wikipedia)Collection
