Steve Behr was an American road‑racing driver born in 1938 and active mainly in the 1960s and 1970s. His career included entries in SCCA Formula 5000, Trans‑Am, endurance racing, and various IMSA‑related events. His best recorded result was a second‑place finish in the 1974 1000 Km of Mexico at Autódromo Magdalena Mixhuca. Across 15 documented career starts, he earned one podium and no wins, poles, or fastest laps, driving machinery ranging from a Lola T330 to Porsche 935s and BMW touring cars.
Behr also made a brief appearance in NASCAR’s top series, attempting one Cup Series event in 1977, though he did not qualify. He later lived in Indianapolis, Indiana, and died on July 10, 2013. His career reflects a capable endurance and formula driver who competed steadily across multiple categories but never broke through to major international success.Collection
