This was issued for the race team Écurie Écosse.
Écurie Écosse was founded in November 1951 in Edinburgh, Scotland, by businessman and racing driver David Murray along with mechanic Wilkie Wilkinson. The name, French for “Team Scotland” or “Scotland Stable,” reflected their ambition to put Scottish motorsport on the international stage. The team quickly gained recognition for its distinctive flag-blue metallic cars and its remarkable success, most notably winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1956 and 1957. These victories cemented Écurie Écosse’s reputation as one of the most iconic privateer racing teams in Europe.Collection
