Description

This vintage identification plate from the Société Française Hispano-Suiza, a French manufacturer of luxury automobiles and aircraft engines in the early 20th century. The translation of the plaque reads: French Company Hispano-Suiza Captain Guynemer Street, Bois-Colombes Chassis Patents by M. Birkigt, a Swiss engineer behind many of the company’s innovations. The location, Bois-Colombes, was home to one of their French factories. The winged logo and red cross evoke Hispano-Suiza’s dual legacy in aviation and automotive engineering, making this a compelling artifact of early 20th-century industrial design and technological prestige.
