Description

The image depicts a vintage metal cigarette case with a textured, hammered surface, featuring a circular emblem in the center prominently displaying the word "ITALA" in capital letters. The ITALA could stand for the City of Itala in Sicily, or for the Itala Società Anonima Fabbrica Automobili, also known as Itala. The Itala car company was started in 1904 and was absorbed into Fiat in 1934. This hammered-metal case would most likely have been carried by someone who owned or was an enthusiast of the Itala automobiles.
