This vintage MG cigarette case emphasizes the MG Safety Fast campaign. The slogan was first used in 1929, conceived by MG's publicity manager, Ted Colegrove, after seeing the phrase on an Oxford Bus Company. Then again, in 1959, "Safety Fast!" became the official title of the MG Car Club's magazine, with the company's permission. And finally, it was used until 1979. It would seem this case is from the mid-1950s.Collection
