Title [assigned by archives]: Moon over Lake Sister Brigid Conlon, CCVI (1930 – 2016) painted a full moon, partially covered by clouds, above a placid lake. A green shoreline foregrounds the composition, with two trees standing amongst shrubbery at either side. A tree-covered piece of land juts into the lake on the right side of the canvas. Sister Brigid Conlon, CCVI was born in Parkmeen, Rathangan, County Kildare, Ireland on March 23, 1930. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word in 1946 and professed her perpetual vows in 1956. She received her B.A. (1964) and M.A. (1974) in Elementary Education from Incarnate Word College and spent much of her career working as a teacher in schools across Texas and Louisiana. Sister Brigid served in religious education for several years before transitioning to work in hospital pastoral care. She worked at CHRISTUS St. Joseph’s Hospital in Paris, Texas from 1994 to 2004, and was the last Sister to serve in that ministry. Sister Brigid retired to San Antonio, Texas in 2004 and passed away on August 12, 2016.

La hermana Brigid Conlon, CCVI, nació en Parkmeen, Rathangan, condado de Kildare, Irlanda, el 23 de marzo de 1930. La hermana Brigid se dedicó a la educación religiosa durante varios años antes de pasar a trabajar en la pastoral hospitalaria.
