This painted photograph was made by Ernst W. Raba, (1874 – 1951) a well known photographer of San Antonio, Texas at the turn of the 20th century. Sister Mary Robert O'Dea, CCVI (1872-1939) was one of the first graduates of the Santa Rosa Infirmary Training School for Nurses, served as the school's first superintendent of nurses, and became the chief administrator of Santa Rosa Hospital in 1919. She was also was a long time advocate for the establishment of the Santa Rosa Children's Hospital, which was finally built in 1959. She died the year this portrait was made.

Esta fotografía pintada fue realizada por Ernst W. Raba, (1874 - 1951) un fotógrafo bien conocido de San Antonio, Texas a principios del siglo XX. Sor Mary Robert O'Dea, CCVI fue una de las primeras graduadas de la Escuela de Formación de Enfermeras de la Enfermería de Santa Rosa. Sirvió como la primera superintendente de enfermeras de la escuela, y se convirtió en la administradora principal del Hospital Santa Rosa en 1919. Además abogó durante mucho tiempo por la fundación del Hospital Infantil de Santa Rosa, que por fin se construyó en 1959. Falleció el año en que se realizó este retrato.
