The Adoration Chapel's history began on September 8, 1932. This was the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin, and the following note appeared in the Convent Diary: "This Birthday of Our Blessed Lady will long be cherished by all the Sisters, but especially by those at the Motherhouse, for on this day, was inaugurated Perpetual Adoration in this Chapel, for a period of five years. This privilege was granted to Rev. Mother Bonaventure in the private audience she had with Our Holy Father Pius XI on the 23 of July" (SA Provincial House Annals, 1931-1934). The adoration of the Eucharist continued for twenty four hours a day, with at least two Sisters assigned watch at each hour, until the Adoration Chapel moved to St. Joseph's Convent in 1955. The retired Sisters at St. Joseph's observed perpetual adoration until September 12, 1988, when the Adoration Chapel moved to the third floor of newly-constructed Extended Care wing at the Motherhouse.
When the Chapel moved to Extended Care, Sisters no longer observed nighttime adoration. Rather, adoration took place from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. In 2000, these hours were reduced to only four hours per day. In 2007, the Adoration Chapel celebrated its diamond anniversary and, after 75 years, new seats were installed. As of 2025, the Chapel remains open for perpetual Adoration on the third floor of the Village at Incarnate Word.Research Type

La historia de la Capilla de la Adoración comenzó el 8 de septiembre de 1932. Era la fiesta de la Natividad de la Santísima Virgen, y en el diario del convento apareció la siguiente nota: «Este cumpleaños de Nuestra Señora será recordado durante mucho tiempo por todas las hermanas, pero especialmente por las de la Casa Madre, ya que en este día se inauguró la Adoración Perpetua en esta capilla, por un período de cinco años. Este privilegio fue concedido a la reverenda madre Bonaventure en la audiencia privada que tuvo con nuestro Santo Padre Pío XI el 23 de julio» (Anales de la Casa Provincial SA, 1931-1934). La adoración de la Eucaristía continuó durante veinticuatro horas al día, con al menos dos hermanas asignadas a la vigilancia cada hora, hasta que la Capilla de Adoración se trasladó al Convento de San José en 1955. Las hermanas jubiladas de San José observaron la adoración perpetua hasta el 12 de septiembre de 1988, cuando la Capilla de Adoración se trasladó al tercer piso del ala de cuidados prolongados recién construida en la Casa Madre.
Cuando la capilla se trasladó a Cuidados Prolongados, las hermanas dejaron de observar la adoración nocturna. En su lugar, la adoración se llevaba a cabo de 9:00 a. m. a 5:00 p. m. En 2000, estas horas se redujeron a solo cuatro horas al día. En 2007, la Capilla de Adoración celebró su aniversario de diamante y, después de 75 años, se instalaron nuevos asientos. A partir de 2025, la capilla permanecerá abierta para la adoración perpetua en el tercer piso de Village at Incarnate Word.
