Sister Annette Pezold, CCVI was born in St. Charles, Missouri. She joined the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word in 1951, took her first vows in 1954, and made her final profession in 1959.
She spent her early days as a Sister in elementary education before receiving her M.S. in Social Work from the Catholic University of America in 1985. She served as Director and Program Manager Queen of Peace Center in St. Louis, Missouri after receiving her degree. There, she helped women recovering from alcoholism learn healthy ways of living and coping.
It was in St. Louis that Sister Annette discovered her love of painting. In her words: “I've always had a love for drawing and painting, even in school. When I was stationed in St. Louis, I met a woman who was an artist; she also taught art. I spent a good amount of time with her. This is where I discovered that watercolor was my favorite!”
Sister Annette was the last CCVI Sister to mission in the Texas Panhandle; she served as a Social Worker at Baptist Saint Anthony’s Hospital from 1996 to 2010. Today, she is retired in San Antonio, Texas.Research Type

Sor Annette Pezold, CCVI, nació en St. Charles, Misuri. Se unió a la Congregación de las Hermanas de la Caridad del Verbo Encarnado en 1951, hizo sus primeros votos en 1954 y profesó sus votos perpetuos en 1959.
Pasó sus primeros años como hermana en la enseñanza primaria antes de obtener su máster en Trabajo Social por la Universidad Católica de América en 1985. Tras obtener su título, trabajó como directora y gestora de programas en el Queen of Peace Center de St. Louis, Misuri. Allí ayudó a mujeres que se recuperaban del alcoholismo a aprender formas saludables de vivir y afrontar la vida.
Fue en St. Louis donde la hermana Annette descubrió su amor por la pintura. En sus propias palabras: «Siempre me ha gustado dibujar y pintar, incluso en la escuela. Cuando estuve destinada en St. Louis, conocí a una mujer que era artista y también enseñaba arte. Pasé mucho tiempo con ella. ¡Ahí fue donde descubrí que la acuarela era mi técnica favorita!».
Sor Annette fue la última hermana CCVI en realizar una misión en el Panhandle de Texas; trabajó como trabajadora social en el Baptist Saint Anthony's Hospital de 1996 a 2010. Actualmente está jubilada y vive en San Antonio, Texas.
