Sor Martha Irma Almanza Licon, CCVI was born on February 16, 1940 in Delicias, Chihuahua, Mexico. She studied business at Instituto America, where she met several CCVI Sisters who encouraged her to follow her call to religious like. Sor Martha Irma entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word in Mexico City in 1957, took her first vows in 1958, and made her final profession in 1965.
Sor Martha Irma’s obituary reads, “Her ministry in the Congregation was very varied. She studied music in Miguel Angel Institute and taught piano for a few years in the CCVI schools; later she was in charge of the Novitiate and later of the Juniorate; she was the coordinator in the communities of the Annunciation in lnstituto America in Chihuahua and San Jose in the Colegio Mexicano in Monterrey. While she was there, she went back to school to study Communications at the University of Monterrey and after that she began her service at the Communications Office in the Provincial House in Mexico City, where she began "Una Carta," at first it was in a very rustic form, then she improved its contents and presentation and at its fifteenth year anniversary, the changes happened faster and faster until it reached its present day format.” Sor Martha Irma passed away on September 15, 2004 after a long illness.Research Type

Sor Martha Irma Almanza Licon, CCVI, nació el 16 de febrero de 1940 en Delicias, Chihuahua, México. Estudió administración de empresas en el Instituto América, donde conoció a varias hermanas CCVI que la animaron a seguir su vocación religiosa. Sor Martha Irma ingresó en la Congregación de las Hermanas de la Caridad del Verbo Encarnado en la Ciudad de México en 1957, hizo sus primeros votos en 1958 y profesó sus votos perpetuos en 1965.
El obituario de sor Martha Irma dice: «Su ministerio en la Congregación fue muy variado. Estudió música en el Instituto Miguel Ángel y enseñó piano durante algunos años en las escuelas CCVI; más tarde se encargó del noviciado y luego del juniorado; fue coordinadora en las comunidades de la Anunciación en el Instituto América en Chihuahua y San José en el Colegio Mexicano en Monterrey. Mientras estaba allí, volvió a la universidad para estudiar Comunicación en la Universidad de Monterrey y, después, comenzó a trabajar en la Oficina de Comunicación de la Casa Provincial de Ciudad de México, donde puso en marcha «Una Carta», que al principio tenía un formato muy rudimentario, pero luego mejoró su contenido y presentación y, en su decimoquinto aniversario, los cambios se sucedieron cada vez más rápido hasta alcanzar su formato actual». Sor Martha Irma falleció el 15 de septiembre de 2004 tras una larga enfermedad.
