"Beautiful indeed is the death of the Just. Imagine, my dear Sisters, our emotions as we gazed on that loved form, now cold in death, with heaven's own smile resting on her placid features. Our honored Bishop having permitted us to have an autopsy made, we immediately made preparations for same, in order to secure her precious heart. When that dear heart was opened, those who attended were privileged to insert their hands into the cavities of the lungs and feel the quantity of water that had lodged there, and which was the immediate cause of her death. The heart was very much dilated and filled with large clots of blood. It was removed, placed in alcohol, and now rests near that of our Venerated Mother Saint Pierre, awaiting the receptacle that will preserve to posterity that heart, which knew so well how to serve its Savior, whose every pulsation was a sigh for His glory and the sanctification of souls." - 3 Noviembre, 1894 Mother Madeleine Chollet Monthly Letters Vol II 1894-1906 - pp.4-5
