Title [assigned by archives]: Stained Glass Window: Eucharistic Chapel The Cavallini Company of San Antonio, Texas designed, fabricated, and installed new stained-glass windows for the Chapel of the Incarnate Word during 2006 renovations. This window is in the Eucharistic Chapel, formerly the altar of St. Joseph, which Rolf Rohn and Associates constructed during the same renovation project. This stained-glass window features a design centered on Eucharistic symbolism. At the top, an arched panel frames a circular medallion depicting a golden chalice holding a white host. The chalice is set against a vivid blue quatrefoil background, outlined with gold and red. The lower half of the window is composed of abstract, mosaic-like panes in varying shades of blue, creating the effect of shifting light or flowing water. Flanking the window on both sides are vertical panels, each containing a flower for each country the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word (CCVI) serve around the world. Clockwise from the top left, the flowers are as follows: - Bluebonnets represent Texas, the founding state of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word. - Calla lilies represent Mexico, the home of many CCVI Sisters and ministries. - Bougainvillea represents Zambia, where the CCVI Sisters had a mission from 2000 to 2018. - Shamrocks represent Ireland, where many CCVI Sisters are from. The Sisters established a convent in Dunmore, Ireland in 1925. - The Iris represents France, the homeland of the founding CCVI Sisters. - Cantua flowers represent Peru, where the CCVI Sisters have served since 1964. The Cavallini Co. created etched glass panels depicting these same flowers, which surround the entry doorway to the Chapel. ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Título [asignado por los archivos]: Vidriera: Capilla Eucarística La empresa Cavallini de San Antonio, Texas, diseñó, fabricó e instaló nuevas vidrieras para la Capilla del Verbo Encarnado durante las renovaciones de 2006. Esta vidriera se encuentra en la Capilla Eucarística, antiguamente el altar de San José, que Rolf Rohn and Associates construyó durante el mismo proyecto de renovación. Esta vidriera presenta un diseño centrado en el simbolismo eucarístico. En la parte superior, un panel arqueado enmarca un medallón circular que representa un cáliz dorado con una hostia blanca. En el sentido de las agujas del reloj, desde la parte superior izquierda, las flores son las siguientes: - Las bluebonnets representan a Texas, el estado fundador de las Hermanas de la Caridad del Verbo Encarnado. - Las calas representan a México, hogar de muchas hermanas y ministerios de la CCVI. - Las buganvillas representan a Zambia, donde las hermanas de la CCVI tuvieron una misión entre 2000 y 2018. - Los tréboles representan a Irlanda, de donde proceden muchas hermanas de la CCVI. Las hermanas fundaron un convento en Dunmore, Irlanda, en 1925. - El iris representa a Francia, la patria de las hermanas fundadoras de CCVI. - Las flores de cantua representan a Perú, donde las hermanas CCVI han prestado servicio desde 1964.
