Note
This work comments on the loss of tidelands on Fidalgo Island due to the destruction of habitat by wintering Snow Geese. The installation was created for the Surge exhibition at MoNA and was a collaboration with Natural Resource Coordinator Roger Fuller and plant pathologist, DR. Terry Niblack. Dr. Niblack contributed the quilting on the fabric portion. Note Type
Installation NoteNote
This work comes in four pieces. Three are paper cuts and one is a small quilt. It attaches to the wall with map pins and takes approximately 2 hours for two people to install. Photographic directions of how the layers are attached will be included with the work. The paper has very thin strips which need delicate handling to prevent tearing. Push pins are used to place the initial hanging and then replaced with map pins. The map pins should look invisible by letting the pin head overlap and hold the paper. Whoever hangs this piece determines the number of pins needed and their location. This piece is very light weight. I have always hung my wall pieces and prefer to do so. See detail.Note Type
