In the first stage of painting a traditional miniature, a grid is impressed onto the paper for measurement and proportioning the image. Qureshi has incorporated the grid into his painting. His earlier flowers and leaves were blue and it reappeared this year, in his latest installation at a girl’s school in Pakistan, signifying hope - for better life through education of women.
