Description
Tokens distributed in honor of the 250th anniversary of South River. N.J. in 1970. The face of each token is imprinted with an image of a Native American with the words "Wooden Nickel." The reverse side reads "250th Anniversary of South River, N.J. -- Good for real Nickel at 1st Charter National Bank."
The two tokens were attached to a paper plate so that the front was visible on one and the back on the other. Both are natural wood with black printing and measure 1 1/2" in diameter.
