A note handwritten on the back in blue ink reads "'Little Miss America' - 1970, Palisades Park, N.J.; Taryn Thomas - Age 9; Parents - Mr. & Mrs. Jay Thomas Jr.; Taryn was crowned Queen of the 250th Anniversary of South River, N.J. by Eva C. Bissett, Queen Riverie, 200th Anniversary 1920 at opening ceremonies November 6, 1970; November 1970."
