Description

Two small white wax pillar candles with burnt ends. Tags around the middle of candles read, "Lit From Olympic Torch February 4, 1980, South River, N.J. " and on the side vertically, "S R C A." The candles were lit from the Olympic torch when it passed through South River on February 4, 1980, on its way to the Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, NY. Thousands gathered along Main Street for the event and a cauldron located in front of what is now the South River Museum was lit from the Olympic torch. Each candle measures 4" in height.
