Photograph of the South River Public Library decorated with bunting for the celebration of South River's 250th anniversary in 1970. Both the World War I doughboy memorial and the World War II and Korean Conflict memorial are visible on the lawn in front of the building. The sign on the building reads "South River War Memorial Free Public Library."
A note handwritten on the back in blue ink reads " November 1970, 250th Anniversary - November 6 - 11, 1970. This is now the oldest building in South River, originally the Old School Baptist Church."
"Photography by Harold Rosenthal, 37 Washington Street, South River, NJ 08882" is stamped on the back in black ink. The left edge has the remains of a sticker with mirror-imaged text reading " Moisten ???"
Additional small markings have been made in the white border on the front of the photograph.
Black and white photograph measures 8" x 10" and is in good condition aside from damage to the lower edge of the photograph where it was adhered to another photograph. There is also minor creasing near the bottom and the handwritten text has bled through to the front in some places.Photograph Details
