Wooden sign identifying the "Site of First Schoolhouse erected before the Revolutionary War, discontinued in 1837. The legend at the bottom reads, "South River, NJ, 1720-1970" indicating that the sign was part of the celebration of South River's 250th anniversary.
Sign measures 14" x 18" x 5/8" and has red painted lettering and rounded corners. It was made by Yvonne Fontinell.Acquisition
