Description
Brass U.S Coast and Geodetic Survey Bench Mark that was mounted in the wall of the Lincoln School building located at the corner of Prospect Street and William Street until it was torn down in 2017. Marker has a round flat surface and a single spike pointed down from the center. Engraved text around the face of the marker reads: "U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey Bench Mark; For information write to the director , Washington D.C.; $250 fine or imprisonment for disturbing this mark; Q53 1961." Marker was recovered by Andre Construction at the former Lincoln School.
Marker is in good condition with some wear and discoloration. Housed in a wooden and glass box with a red cloth.
