Souvenir program from the opening of the Capitol Theatre, South River, NJ, January 20, 1928.
The cover of the booklet is printed on cardstock, gold with the title and an art deco design on the outside, and white or off-white on the inside. The inside of the both the front and back covers also has text printed in black. The contents of the booklet consists of eight sheets folded to form 32 pages of text. The text on the interior pages appears to be printed in green.
The booklet was originally covered with a semi-sheer protective outer sheet with a spiderweb pattern. The sheet is present, but is in two pieces and no longer attached to the booklet.
Contents of the booklet include: a "Dedicatory Announcement" that provides a brief description of the features of the new theater, a "Schedule of Events" for the opening, general information about theater admission and performances, the "Programme" schedule for the following week, identification of the businesses involved in the construction of the theater, booster ads, and other information.
Measures approximately 6" x 9" and is in good condition. Booklet is held together by staples at the spine.Acquisition
