Black and white photograph of cars traveling across the Causeway bridge after it reopened following an October 1966 accident that damaged the lifting mechanism. The concrete counterweight is missing, its location shown by an empty steel frame. The view is from the South River side of the bridge looking towards Sayreville. A house and another small building are visible at the left.
The back of the photograph has a handwritten note that reads, "South River, Causeway Bridge, Sayre."
