Historical Note

Note

Mary Serafin included a list of time capsule items beginning on page 132 of her memoirs. Item 40 on page 133 is listed as "Rosary beads from a Priest, Reverend Stanley E. Kloskowski, to be returned to family, Susan Serafin in 2020." Newspaper references to Reverend Kloskowski's 1958 ordination confirm his name as Stanley E. Kloskowski. The note in the time capsule mistakenly refers to Vincent and gives the date of Reverend Kloskowski's first Mass rather than his ordination. Rev. Kloskowski had a brother named Vincent. According to information provided by Woodis Booraem, co-chair of the 1970 time capsule committee, the rosary was added to the time capsule by Mary Serafin after the contents had been decided on. It was the only item included that was intended to be returned rather than retained by the borough.
